• Two hundred Easter baskets filled with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cookies, pudding, juice, cake mix with frosting, fruit, and candy
  • Twenty-four layettes for young infants
  • Chicken, ham, or turkey for the holiday table

Things many of us take for granted which make all the difference in the world to our program participants.

Our New LIFE Center food pantry has been extremely busy this year and we couldn’t have kept our pantry running so smoothly without our fourteen volunteers!

In the first three months of this year, we distributed food to over 750 families, 14% more than last year. Our food intake totaled 40,000 pounds, 5% more than the previous year.  We are seeing an increase in the number of people who either walk up to our pantry for first-time assistance or are brought to us by one of our established clients.

We are grateful for our volunteers and wanted to give them a shout-out during National Volunteer Week!

Thanks to LSSNY’s volunteers, we have helped improve the lives of 25,000 underserved and low-income New Yorkers.

Over 2,000 people volunteer over 14,000 hours of service annually, sharing their time, gifts and talents. We accept undergraduates and graduates looking to intern in clinical or non-clinical settings. We welcome youth groups, as well as individuals seeking to volunteer at our sites.
