We’ve been spreading holiday cheer!

Our new Family Enrichment Center (FEC) hosted a holiday party for our foster care program, Family Support Services, St. Johns House 2, and community members of Morrisania, Crotona, East Tremont, and Belmont.

There were gifts for all children and youth, a choir from Franklin Baptist Church, a DJ, and a great menu by Salsa Caterers. There were arts and crafts tables for the children to make their own ornaments, cards and letters to Santa. Our event planner, Indhira Ramirez, transformed the former New Life School in the Bronx into a beautiful holiday venue.

We are grateful to our FEC Community Council members, LSSNY staff, and board members Rachel Cohen and Barbara Johnson.

Our very own Ruth Acevedo gave the celebration a unique spin with a modern and fashionable Mrs. Klaus / Mother Christmas.

Says Margarita Marriaga, Executive Director of Children’s Services, “Ruth brought delight and memorable photos for our children and families.”

Stay tuned for details on how Ruth concocted her marvelous Christmas creation and how Rachel and her elves gathered holiday gifts for foster care children.

Merry Christmas!
