Meet Cody, an 8th grade student. He is a member of the Junior National Honor Society. As such, he was asked to volunteer his time in some way.
Cody wanted to spend his time giving back in a way that would help others. He collected toy donations from friends and family and other members of the community and is donating them to Lutheran Social Services of New York’s New Life School.
The school will use these gifts for its annual holiday shop, where students can shop for free for holiday gifts for themselves and their families.
Cody understands that true compassion does not come from wanting to help out those less fortunate than we but from realizing our kinship with all beings. His parents are extremely proud.
